Fantastic FourBack in June, it looked like there was some news to report on the upcoming reboot of the "Fantastic Four" movie franchise with a new title ("Fantastic Four: Reborn") and registered website domains for the project. And while the validity of that new title is still up in the air, there are a few more uncertain, unofficial items that hit the wire recently which could merit discussion.

First and foremost are a bunch of rumors circulating about the actress who could portray Sue Storm in the new "Fantastic Four" film. Over at ComicBookMovie.com, two names have been thrown into the mix: former "X-Men: First Class" actress Alice Eve (who was rumored to be playing Emma Frost before January Jones took the role) and "Pineapple Express" actress Amber Heard.

According to the site's anonymous (read: unconfirmed) sources, Eve's departure from "First Class" may have been due to a better offer in the form of The Invisible Woman, Sue Storm. While Eve had previously been rumored to be one of the contenders for the female lead in "Captain America," this would be Heard's first mention in connection with a comic book movie.

As for the rest of Marvel's first family of superheroes, ScreenRant reports from its own anonymous sources that actors Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Adrien Brody are being pursued to play Reed Richards, the brilliant scientist with an elastic body. The site indicates that Brody could have the edge due to his roles in recent films like "Predators" and "Splice," though either actor's attachment is entirely unofficial and unconfirmed at this point.

Oh, and what about Johnny Storm, the fire-flinging Human Torch? ComicBookMovie reports that relatively unknown actor Kevin Pennington could be up for the role. (A quick IMDb search indicates that Pennington's previous roles include characters labeled "Party Stud," "Male Model" and "Hot Firefighter.")

Oh, and one final note on the film's title: ScreenRant also mentions in its report on the Reed Richards candidates that "Fantastic Four: Reborn" will not be the title of the film.

So, what do we know for sure? Well, we know there will be another "Fantastic Four" movie at some point... maybe. Possibly.

And that's about it. Back to your regularly scheduled reading, folks!
